Two openings on opposite coasts of the Atlantic are saying the same thing: build the room for music, then invite people in.
ORIGIN is due late summer / early autumn 2026 in LA’s Arts District, from Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar (SBCLTR, Minimal Effort, Brunch Electronik). Designer Marc Dizon — Brooklyn Mirage, Output, Hakkasan, Sound Nightclub — is shaping an indoor-outdoor club around a custom analog KV2 Audio system, with a separate outdoor rig. Fridays lean live and indie electronic; Saturdays swing between daytime patio events and late house / techno. Downtown has lived in Exchange LA’s shadow for years. A music-first independent room is overdue.
In Ibiza, Nocturna has opened under Los Felices: The Fashion Hotel in Cala de Bou, from Concept Hotel Group and Tokyo Industries. The pitch is an audiophile listening room: red velvet corridor, intimate floor, TPI system calibrated for the space. Residencies and The Night Cats membership are there, but the stated goal is to put the dancefloor back in the middle of an island that often forgets it.
We will take that seriously. Independent labels need independent rooms. When a system is tuned and a promoter books for dancers instead of tables, records like XL’s Break Through and RickyP’s Open Air have somewhere to live. Watch the lineups. If the music stays first, these rooms will matter past opening week.
